Team picture!
*
On the way back to Chicago... Brooke's van blew a tire! The girls got the tire off and were all set to put the spare on when it was discovered that the guys who had put the spare in put the wrong size tire in the trailer!!! We were only a little ways from the Northwoods, so the guys came out and brought us the right tire. SO! That was an adventure...

Becky, Me, Roberta, and Emily - old friends from Rhode Island!! It was so great to see ya'll again!

Dad came to pick us up afterwards, and we drove north to Milwaukee again.

The Mirror Picture. Wherever I go, I have to have at least one!

Grammie, Dad, and Pop-pop. We love you so much!!

Roberta, Grammie, and I.

Connecting with the world again after ten days of connecting with only God. Connecting with God is a whole lot more satisfying!! (just so you know, that photo was totally staged. the feet and all.)

A sunset the next morning!

And I close with this picture of Dad, in the airport... and don't worry - he doesn't usually make faces as goofy as this one!! =)

Happy Resurrection Sunday!!

What an experience it would be to have been there all those years ago. Jesus, the One who was crucified for our sins has risen from death! He is ALIVE! What a joyful, amazing day! I can just imagine being there on that glorious first Easter morning. He loved us enough to pay the penalty for our sins, then live again so we could live in eternity with Him... FOREVER!

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come; Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39, KJV
Happy Easter Sunday, ya'll!! I hope you have a blessed celebration of our Savior's resurrection.

I'd like to share this amazing song with ya'll. Don't let today's version of Easter cloud the glory of Jesus' victory over death!!

In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song.
This Cornerstone, this solid ground;
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace;
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All;
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe;
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For every sin on Him was laid.
Here in the death of Christ I live!

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious Day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ!

No guilt in life, no fear in death;
This is the power of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man;
Can ever pluck me from His hand.
‘til He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!

The Big *One-Eight*

Roberta turned 18 on March first!! Wow, she's getting to be old, isn't she? =) Just kidding. Hope you had an excellent birthday, Roberta, and have an even more excellent year this year!!

Sarah loves birthday parties!

Okay, so are you officially a year older when...
1. you wake up on your birthday,
2. you reach the exact time that you were born, down to the minute,
or 3. you blow out your birthday candles?

A mystery.
Yum, strawberries!

Dessert. Oooh, it was delicious!

Hannah's Birthday

March 4 was Hannah's birthday! As I am Hannah, I could also say that March 4 was my birthday.

Us girls had a delicious lunch at the Italian restaurant.

Ah, but what is a girl's lunch without a few faces and a little bit of fun?

Okay, as it was my birthday, you can see one picture of me. But just one.

17 candles on the chocolate ice cream pie... wow. And no, it didn't melt before I got to them!!
=)

Too Early!

Take a look at this, will you...

Don't let my fantastic macro skills fool you - the grass is only about one and a half inches tall. (just kidding about the fantastic part!) Seriously, though -it's been so warm on this side of the country that some of the grass on the southern exposures has begun to come up! In February? Oh, well! It's going to be hot this summer!!

I don't think I posted any pictures of Millie since she was born in September!! She's gotten so big and cute since then!

And curious, too. Camera-eating and all that.

And I will finish up with a cool shot (or at least I thought it was cool) of genuine cowgirl leather. =) Hope you have a happy Sunday!!

The Life...

...of a high school senior. Oh, for the good old days when school was done at 10:00 in the morning, and I could practice all my piano songs in 20 minutes flat, and I wasn't trying to start a photography business! Seriously, though, I love my life. God is good, and life is fun! Graduating is very exciting for me, too!! I can't wait, if you can't tell. Maybe I'll hire a substitute blogger... in case you didn't know, there are other people in this family who know how to use a computer!!!!
(read - *hint,* *hint*)

So I'm sorry about the lack of blogging going on around here. You will all be relieved to hear that my camera is back from repairs and I'm going to start clicking that shutter button soon to show you all some interesting things around here! By the way, Abby had a birthday on February 16th, and I got a few pics of that. Look for them in the near future!

Till then, enjoy life. Have a great Friday!

Hannah

Is it supposed to be winter around here? February?
I thought so.
The thermometer says 48 degrees. Whatever.

Oops.

Wow, I think this is the longest I've ever gone without posting!! Disgraceful. I'm really sorry, everyone!!!

I got my wisdom teeth pulled on January 8th, then I was down for a few days, then I was trying to catch up in school as well as prepare for a possible bluegrass performance... yikes! I've been busy!
My camera is currently away being serviced, but I hope I can delight you with a few pictures taken before it got mailed away. Enjoy, and have a great day!

Toothless!! Kind Of.

Abby lost her first tooth on top! She looks quite the little pirate. Now we're waiting for the other one...

Love ya, Abby!!

2010 US Nationals

January 16th was the 2010 US Nationals Senior Pairs Free Skate.... which we got to see!! It was great! Mom got us girls tickets for Christmas. =) We had a ton of fun, and it was wonderful seeing the skaters in real life! It's so different from watching a recording. They were in Spokane, a city which is a few hour's drive from our home.
I did the best I could on the pics with a 55mm lens, which doesn't allow you to take very close pictures!! But I hope you enjoy them just the same. =)

What was really neat was how a lot of them did the same moves, but they were all so different!

The gold medalists, Caydee Denney and Jeremy Barrett. They were fantastic!!!

The awards ceremony.
