The Graduation

Here are some pictures from Joe's Graduation ceremony on May 18th. He did really well (and I don't mind saying so... :-)! I do have some more pictures, but I need to get them off the CDs - I will put more on later with the other stuff we're doing around here...

There is a more up-to-date picture!

Hugs! (This was just after he received his diploma. Finally - it's done!)

Our Graduate

Just to let you know, our one and only (and favorite!) brother and son, (a.k.a. Joe) will officially be graduating from high school this Sunday at a small ceremony after Church. Please pray for Joe as he goes on this new adventure in life! He will be starting some college courses from the farm. Home school college, of sorts. I will be taking pictures of the ceremony (of course he wouldn't mind if we didn't say anything, but... let's just say - we've got... big plans.) We know that God also has big plans for his life. We really have appreciated and our very thankful that God put him in our family 19 years ago! Hooray for Joe!!

Might Be, Maybe

Hi, everyone!
~By the time you read this, we'll have planted about 10 fruit trees (I think), tilled and plowed an entire vegetable and flower garden, put up a cow shelter in the pasture, and done a lot of deer fencing.
~And, spring is here. It might be. Maybe. (yes, that's where I got the title from...) Kind of - we're hoping, at least!!
~A little bit of frost last night. But there are some wildflowers coming up and we're happy... even though some could be considered... er - weeds. But when you have seven acres and most of it is okay with the weeds since it's not all a seven-acre lawn, it's all right.
~Ah, yes - pictures of Dad and the bees to follow. He got ten hives of them a couple of weeks ago and all are doing great - except one, who had a "dud" queen. That was... taken care of.
~Hope you have a great week!! And I'm very sorry for not posting in such a long time. :-) I knew you couldn't bear it any longer. So I graced you with a post... (jk) enjoy!
~
Can you believe that this came out of....

...This? Same field, same place, two months later. Yes, we can believe it... it's been a long cold winter for us summer loving us!

Say hello, Stuart, dear!! (Don't tell me that's that cat again!)
Aha!!

That's a little more sensible...

Joe's 19th

Joe's 19th birthday was on the 19th of April. (which is cool, since it only happens once in your lifetime!) I've got some pictures of the celebration - Hope you enjoy and have a great day!!!

Did you enjoy your cake.... Hm?

Inspection

Birthday hug!!

More "Inspection"

Happy Birthday to You!!!

Not Another One!

Well, what happens when you let Mom and Roberta go to town together, alone? ... What happened a few months ago was that they brought home a kitten. (Zoe) Okay, so we only had two here, and they were little. Well, that cat grows up - and gets not-so-cute.

And what, what do you think they came home with yesterday? A kitten. Surprise of all surprises. Of course, this kitten is different. This kitten is Roberta's - (now I know how Mom got talked into it - it's not ours, it's Roberta's!) After all, Angora Cats (which is what she is) live to be 15 or so, and Seal (which is her name) is only about 5 weeks... Roberta will be 31 or older when it dies!! Oh, boy. Multi-generational cats!

~

Curiosity at it's best. You should see this cat go! She's so curious (that's the only word for her!) I'm afraid she won't make 15!

Wonderment. If that's a word.

The meeting. Zoe and Seal looked at each other for a second, then Seal hissed and Zoe was gone! Scardy- cat!!

What's New?

Not too much is new - just, let me see....
1. Spring weather is on the way! (finally) Everyone was saying it was just about a month late this year. We had a pretty bad winter, for here. Lots of snow, and it stayed forever! Well, yesterday (Sunday) it was in the low 70's when we came home from church. It was just about in the high 60's on Saturday - we were outside all day!
2. Putting up fences to keep the deer out of our orchard, garden, and bushes. Not very easy, just ask Joe and Dad! :-)
3. Big calf. Miss Daisy Mae weighs over 90 pounds now, she's gained around twice what she was born weighing (which is very good)
4. Getting four gallons of milk a day (also very good, in case you didn't know that about cows)
:-) That's about it! Hope you have a great day!

Adventures in... Fire trucks?

I got these really cool pictures of Joe's fire truck on the way past our house! I say Joe's - really the volunteer department Joe and Dad work for. Dad was away at town and missed it all! :-) They were going up the road a few miles, and I was with Sarah in the barn taking pictures of Daisy. When we heard the sirens, we ran outside - and I took these pictures. Generally they get a call every week or two - so it was exciting for Joe - the new EMT! (He graduated from EMT class a few weeks ago, by the way!)
~

Coming up the hill....

A little closer (if it wasn't snowing so hard you could make out Joe on the left side of the truck)

Classic Picture - dog and fire truck.

They move fast - sorry, that's all I got! Gotta wait till next time! So, now I leave you with these pictures and the promise of more pics of the rest of us, - our cows, calf, chickens, farm, weather, actions, events, whatever - till later!!!
