A Fair Weekend

Hello, Friends and Family and Various Other Visitors!
*
Last weekend was the North East Washington State Fair. (they have several fairs in Washington, this is one of the smaller ones.) It's such a great experience, going around and seeing all the different animals, tractors, quilts, jams and jellies, fresh produce, horse-riding contests, and other various exhibits. NEWA state fair lasts for three days and is a really informal event. Make sure you visit Colville this one weekend in August if you ever have a chance to take a vacation!!
*
Here are the photos from the fair and stuff. I've got more pictures but it would be a record-setting post if I put everything on at once!! Have a great day!

Love to all,
Hannah

Look at the size of that cabbage, will you!?!?! (No - we didn't grow it... :-)

Roberta's baby cap and booties (made from her own Angora Rabbit's fur!) won Judges' choice in the needlework section! Way to go, Roberta!!

Sarah and her blue-ribbon card.

I did my first year of Performing Arts this year, playing piano - Adagio from Sonata Pathetique by Beethoven. I won three Blue Ribbons, A Special Award, and the Reserve Grand Champion Title during the three-day competition. :-)

What Happens... In the Summertime

Hello, everyone!
*
Well, the summer time certainly can be... busy... around a farm, I tell you! We do a lot during the warm days - as long as it doesn't get too warm, thankyouverymuch!
*
So to sum up this week, we've had guests - the Great Beal Family - huckleberry excursions, and a lot of dramatic 6-year-old stuff. So! I hope you enjoy your week!
*
Hugs to all,
Hannah

I will begin this long post with... Amy and The Cat.

Claire feeds chickens - almost silhouette art.

Gathering eggs... ah - the life of a farm girl!

Two little girls.

Four big girls - and a baby!

The dads.

What a patient cow!

Inspection..

Milkin'

Clover always wants to eat the camera!

Feeding Daisy.

Art - yummy, yum!

Joe, testing his new camera.

A lovely butterfly.

Experimenting in brown and white mode...

Huckleberries?

We went one day to try to find huckleberries. Unfortunately, the well-guarded secrets as to where to find them do not belong to us but to veteran pickers. So, we came home with a few - only a few.

In which I photograph myself...

Precision picking.

Abby and the tiny amount of berries - not much luck - still! A fun time together.

Oh, deer!

Faithful student...

Farm Art (specialty of Sarah!)

Hello, there. As you can see, Sarah is very photogenic... and adores being photographed. (Just kidding, sis!)
