Pizza People

If you know us at all, you'll know that eating is one of our favorite things to do.
The end.

I find it handy to keep my camera in manual focus when I give it to a sibling... a rather way to keep the paparazzi from being successful paparzzians.

I'm mean sometimes.
.

and I leave you with this new P fam tradition... the phone pile! Touch your phone first and you loooose big time.

much love!

Summer Begins

Well, not OFFICIALLY. But kinda.

Practically.

It's turning green... summer chores are picking up... the garden is growing up... mmm hmm...

And we're all glad to have Hannah home...

hehe, haha... Hannah is writing this. What I meant to say, OF COURSE, is that I'm glad to be home!! =)

Bonfire night. Definitely a favorite Pittelkow thing!

Girls and kitties.

Let the HANNAH-SARAH pictures commence!!

We put 'em to work... for real.

So y'all... how's YOUR summer going?

Hannah's BACK!!

I guess I could technically have said "I'm back," since I'm the one writing this. But I thought y'all might get... confused.

But at any rate, yes! I am back, and this blog WILL see some action! I see that Sarah.. *ahem, ahem*... yeah. You guys didn't pester her enough!! Emails, texts, comments... she needs a leeetle encouragement! haha! =)

Summer is starting... life is picking up the pace, and, well, so is blogging. Head over to my blog to see what I've been up to at college. And stick around here to see what adventures the Pittelkows have this summer! =)

Much love!

Shame & Disgrace

That's what this blog is!

I see that Sarah didn't post ONCE. Okay, y'all, you can't let her get away with that!! Flood her email, fill up her texts (phone number available on request, lol!), and just pester her in general until she posts. Just kidding... mostly.

But now that I'm home, I promise that things will get more interesting. I'll try to keep it regular... try, try. =) So check back... at least until the end of January, because that's when I go back to college and y'all are in Sarah's hands again!

Until then... well, I had to post at least ONE picture! And since my camera's broken (*sniff*) you'll have to put up with iPhone pictures. Which aren't *that* bad. Right? =)

Much love!
Hannah

Such beauty. *sigh*

Queen Abigail the Valiant

Once upon a time....

A long photographer ventured out into the wilderness of The Blueberry Field to take her Picture of the Day. (A rather private person, this photographer is keeping the Project... well... private. Just in case the curious were... well... curious.)

A flash of white went by. The photographer was started. "Hark! Who goes there?" She shouted courageously, despite the terror she felt arising in her heart. However, she had no need to be terrified, for out of the tall grass emerged the beautiful form of the legend - Queen Abigail the Valiant!!

"Fear not, foolish photographer, for I am a Queen of Mercy and of Kindness. I do not come in the name of Terror, but in the name of Peace."

(okay, it was more along the lines of, "Hannah, it's ME." But that didn't sound as good in the storybook.)

It is rare that Queen Abigail the Valiant stands still for more than one minute... and even more rare that she graces the front of the lens with her presence. But the lone photographer was in luck today!

Queen Abigail was more than obliging.

She is, after all, the eight-year-old baby of the family.
Despite the fact that she IS the baby, she has a very good, hearty "CHARGE" voice. And she won't mind using it if one is disobeying the rules of her Country.

The valiant Queen will not shy away from danger or distress. Always willing to come to your aid, she raises her flashing sword high over the heads of her enemies, almost daring them to come against her.

The neighboring cows think the Queen both amusing and loud - and they can rest assured that all will be well under the reign of Queen Abigail. Even though she doesn't venture into their field, because... well... there is a bull. And bulls are bulls, even in Abigail's Country.

Practicing her sword-throwing skills.

And after that, the very humble lone photographer bowed very graciously low to the ground and thanked Her Majesty for her Time. The Queen said, "Oh, anytime." And with that... we can truly say...

THE END.

Blueberry Update

We thought ya'll might enjoy a little peek at what our blueberries are doing now!

We've got loads of little blossoms on some of the plans. Sadly, others aren't doing so well... we have yet to figure out why. But we're just taking it all as the Lord gives it to us!! (or not...)

Random Early Summerness

Sooooo... here's a few random things that we've been enjoying lately!! *Beware* When I say random... I really, truly mean it.

Gardening... Mom and I (Hannah) have been out and about in our garden a loooooottt recently!! It's been a blessed change from early spring mud, shall we say?

Our favorite cow deserved a little bit of cyberspace. =)

Our lilacs are almost done blooming!! :( Sad, sad, sad. It was so much fun to enjoy them while they lasted, though!

We've also had our share of rain and thunderstorms and so on and so forth. This morning we worked out in the blueberry patch all day, and it was dry and slightly cloudy. Then this afternoon it thunderstormed - the huge rolls of thunder and big cracks of lightning kind of storm. And then, guess what? We had a sunset! Serious.

On Friday night during church sports, we saw a beautiful rainbow - a gift from God just for us!! I posted a bit about it on my blog.

That's all for now, folks!! Thanks a ton for visiting - come back soon!!

We *promise* we'll post more this summer. Kinda.

=)

Yep, It's Spring!

And all we can say is we're super glad. =)

So here's a post of pictures from around our garden and property - hope you enjoy!! I might have overdone it... but I just love the gorgeous colors that spring's brought!

After what seemed like a loooooooong winter, we're thrilled to see the gorgeous spring flowers and feel that warm sunshine.

We've already begun planting the garden... let's see. So far we've planted broccoli, lettuce, some herbs (basil, cilantro, parsley), cauliflower, cabbage, and onions. We've also pruned our raspberries, thinned our strawberries, and taken care of the perennials from last year. (splitting, separating, re-planting, you get the idea.)

I think it'll be a pretty good year for the garden - it's been a nice wet spring so far, and, even though we don't really love the rain, we know that it means we don't have to start watering quite yet!

I love these blue forget-me-nots - you practically can't kill them! And they come back every year. And you can separate them really easily, so what started out as one little bush in the corner of our garden has been split into about six thriving plants that get bigger and prettier each day!!
The chickens absolutely love the sunshine, too... because sunshine means less mud and more dust!!

Bet you didn't know that chickens take dust baths. Seriously. It's how they stay clean... they really don't like water too much. =)

Mmm... pretty.

These are the second things we see in the spring - right after those lovely, cheery dandelions!! It may seem strange, but out here where it's cold for so long, we like our dandelions. They're the first flowers... and... well. They mean happy days ahead. :D

Our strawberries are looking awesome! Last year we got... ummm... several gallons. And I can't wait to get more! Roberta's strawberry lemonade is the b.e.s.t.

Oh, and speaking of Roberta - she's home!! She finished up volunteering for the International ALERT Academy and returned on Saturday. We're so glad to have her back!! =)

Spring also means people!

(Chip, our over-active border collie, is really happy about this one. He's an "outside dog," so all winter long he sleeps on the porch and pouts, because people don't like spending hours upon hours in the freezing cold with him.)

Hard-working farm girl...

This, my fine feathered friends, is a blueberry bush!! They haven't bloomed quite yet... but almost!

And the lilacs!! They're getting ready, too.

Plum blossoms. Oh, my.
Friends, you would not believe how FAST our little guy is growing!!

Oh, yeah... and he likes playing "bull." Go figure. =)

You would also not believe what Sarah named him.

Maybe you don't want to know.

Oh, you do? Okay..... fine.

She named him Mr. Rippingforth.

Dreadful, I know it.

I wanted to call him Raymond. But Mom said there was NO WAY you could eat a Raymond. I tended to disagree... but whatever.

Oh, and Mr. Rippingforth does not like the barn. He glares at you when you leave him in there alone.

Clover lives up her name. She loves that fresh clover!!

But I think we should have called her Dandelion - because she loves those yellow flowers wayyyyyy more than any other weed out there!! =)

...

Okay, that's all for now, folks! Thanks for stopping by!! =)

Hugs!
Hannah
(for everybody)
