Update from Joe

Hello, all!! I think you'll be glad to know that Joe called us shortly before lunch time to say that he'd arrived safely in Texas! He also says that it is much hotter there in Texas than it is here (102 degrees!!). Here are some prayer requests for him and for our family...

• That Joe would be able to keep himself hydrated and avoid heatstroke or dehydration. He has to get used to muggy, hot Texas again!!
• That Joe would have a good few first days getting back into ALERT routine. Since they don't know too much about their schedule, it's hard for him to be ready for the days ahead. But thankfully ERT (the second phase) is much more relaxed and less regulated than Basic!! Ü
• That we'd adjust to not having Joe (our only brother!!) here at home again!

Prayer for Joe

Hello, everyone! Here's something ya'all can pray about for Joe. He's going to be heading down to Texas again on Saturday for the second phase of ALERT training. Please pray for safety in travels and success in his training. We'll miss him!!! Hopefully, he'll be able to send some pictures back of what he's doing down there... and I'll try to remember to post some for ya'all to see!! Till then... ;)

1000th Visitor!!!

I was looking at some of our site stats, and I just saw that someone was our 1000th visitor since January, 09!!! (Of course, we had visitors in 2007 and 2008 - but I just installed the counter in January 09. ) Woohoo!!! ;)

This was just supposed to be a lovely picture, but since I know that one of the girls is going to say something about it once... (*ahem*) I might as well just tell you all now and get it over with, because you'll most likely hear a wild, dramatized version of a very simple story...

Yes, this is the exact spot that I, unintentionally, mind you, ran into the wire fence with my bicycle and scraped up my arm. I didn't know that Joe was done with the fencing for this part of the pasture, and so, since I'd ridden over it many times before, I wasn't bothering to look for any fence. Hence, looking over my shoulder at Sarah was a grave mistake. Thankfully, my left arm was a little scratched, bruised, and swollen, but other than that, I'm totally fine!!! :)

Yes, I DO wear the right prescription glasses. :)

Cat in a Pot?

You want to ask, anyway? Oh. Well. Then I guess I'll have to tell you why this cat is in this pot, right? *sigh*

Okay. Well, she climbed into the pot in an attempt to get away from the dog. Dog-cat chases are... frequent... at our house. Don't worry - he didn't get her, since she was within the garden fence. Which makes you wonder why she got into the pot in the first place... :)

Music Box Dancer

It sure has been a while since I've posted any music! Here's a piano duet that Sarah and I learned recently. I adapted it from the original arrangment, so it's original and one-of-a-kind!!! Here's probably the most energetic version of the Music Box Dancer that you'll ever see. I'm in the blue shirt, and Sarah's in the white. Sorry about that bad quality - I'm trying to figure out how to get it bigger and better. The sound is also a little off... but....
