Happy New Year!!

One minute to midnight,
One minute to go,
One minute to say good-bye,
Before we say hello.

Let's start the new year right,
Twelve o'clock tonight,
When they dim the light,
Let's begin.
Let's Start the New Year Right by Irving Berlin from "Holiday Inn"

Happy New Year, everyone!!!
Wishing you all a blessed, wonderful 2010!!! Hope you have a fantastic celebration!

"The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

Christmas Day

I hope that everybody "had themselves a merry little Christmas!" We sure did. Here are a few pictures from our day. Sorry the quality of the pics is not so good... but when you're camera's not feeling well, well... a photographer's gotta do what a photographer's gotta do!! And that's make-do. Occasionally substituting the cameras of family members. :D

By the end of the day, Abby's ensemble included a hand-me-down skirt handmade by a Christian ministry Africa, a genuine cowgirl belt, (you can't see it in this picture) a surfer-girl necklace from Florida, some rather large, vintage clip-on earrings, and a pair of glittery fairy wings. Oh. Add fairy slippers and fairy wands. Yep.

She was one classy kid!

Oh, the excitement!

Joe demonstrates the art of opening presents carefully.

I think this was one of Sarah's favorite presents... she spent the next half-hour spouting facts as she skimmed the book. =)

Abby helps out. =)

Yes, Mrs. President? Oh, you say it's the Queen of England? I am so sorry. I thought for a moment you were my dear friend Mrs. President. What can I do for you, your majesty?

New books!

Hope ya'all had a very merry Christmas... and

Happy New Year!!!! See you in 2010!!

S*N*O*W

Hey, all!! We really did get a great snow last week! It was fluff-ily, perfectly, beautifully white on our farm ... ahhh, just wonderful! But I have bad news... it's all melted now! I know!! What kind of "white Christmas" is this, anyway? And no snow in the forecast? Really. Please. Whatever.
Anyhow, I took pictures while it lasted, which was l.o.t.s of fun!! (that was before my camera started really acting up) So I hope you enjoy... and pray we get a white Christmas, because everyone likes those!!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.... ♫

Kids playing. :D
Holiday Art. :D

Classic. Oh, yeah.

One of our now-traditional wreaths on the barn.

Millie and Clover admire the photographer... I mean, the snow.

I used the flash so you could see the snowflakes. Some of them were
*h-u-g-e!!*

Inky says that ya'll can come back later, okay? =)

Oh Christmas Tree

I think it's high time one of us lazy bloggers gets with it and presents you all with a worthwhile post or two!! Here I am, at your service. Our post today is about our recent... well, not really recent... holiday activities.

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to get our Christmas tree! We got it early this year, since Dad was going on a business trip and Joe was going on a singing tour to Washington DC (more, yesssssss, much more on that later! Pictures included!). And we wanted to include them in a part of the holiday tradition of tree decorating! (by the way, they're home now... have been for about a week.)

Well, aren't we making a short story... er... long? Yes. So I'll stop. The point is we got are Christmas tree and here are some pictures of it. End of story. :D

and the rest of the folks, as usual, of course
Dad and Joe weren't able to make the trip to town with us, so the nice Christmas tree salesman hefted the tree onto our car for us. Ready to go home!!
But let us travel back in time a little while... to the Holiday Extravaganza in town! We enjoyed a (((cccccccoldddddd))) hay ride, cookies, hot chocolate, and pictures... and I'm just exaggerating, it wasn't all that cold. =) But it was fun!!

Especially for Abby and Sarah... the family's avid horse-lovers. These two make up for the rest of our "horse indifference"!! For sure!

By the way, this lovely photo made it's way into our local newspaper this past week!! =)

Sam and Star. Aww.

In which I experiment with shutter speeds, depth of field, bokeh, and fun editing.

Cowgirl rides again!
Sarah is excited!!

Maybe both of them are. =)

After the tree is up and the excitement has died down, I test my ornament-photographing skills.

I know I shouldn't have used the flash, but I made up for that problem with some strange but cool editing. Some excuse... I know. :D

Hope you all have a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I think I'm going to be sued when my siblings see this video, but I'll risk it anyway...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Okay, well, I think the video will work now. =) Hope ya'll enjoy!!

No, we did not forget Abby... there just wasn't a front-facing pic of her here on Joe's laptop that would work... =) But she'll probably be in upcoming movies... :D
