What's Up? Er... Down

So, here's what we've been doing a lot lately... digging!! Yes, more digging. Thankfully, we're done now (I think.). At least till the next project pops up. Enough snow has melted so that everything is muddy now... Ü
We were trying to find some pipes that come out of our barn, so our very nice neighbor helped us dig this nice big hole with his backhoe....

And we hit water. We have a lot of ground water around our place.
Chip, of course, doesn't mind the digging... or the water... obviously.

Do you see this hole? This hole, here. Well, now there is no hole - it's all filled in and we're off to work on another project now!

Working in the Dirt

We've been trying to figure out where one of the drains in the barn goes, so, up there, there's been a lot of digging around in the dirt going on!! Of course, that's fine for Abby, who specializes in mud pies. Ü Spring is a great time to play with mud... but I'm afraid Dad and Joe can't say they enjoy working in it as much!
One of the pipes.

Delightful, squishy, dirty, squooshy, messy, awful, chunky mud!

Cowgirl Sarah

Sarah and I did a photo shoot in the loft of our small barn today. The lighting's really good up there for some reason... Well, anyway, I'm posting a few of the 175 pictures that I took this afternoon!! Enjoy!

Peace Like a River

Hello, everyone!! I have today a special addition to the blog - music! Some of us have been learning instruments for a few years - finally, we can put it together and it sounds okay! (Well... except for the guitar, because I just picked it up a few days ago and only know five or six chords, but ahem! I digress...)

Main vocalist Abby singing "Peace Like a River," along with her accompanists, Sarah on lead mandolin, Roberta on rhythm mandolin, and Hannah on rhythm guitar. We hope you enjoy the following video!

(Click on the little "play" button in the left-hand corner of the silver bar of the video box)

The band - from left to right - Sarah (lead mandolin), Abby, (main vocals), Hannah (rhythm guitar), and Roberta (rhythm mandolin).

Please comment or contact us so we can see what you think! Look for more music in the future. Ü Hope you enjoyed the music and it was a blessing on your day!

Roberta Turns Seventeen

Hello, everybody, and welcome to our blog! Here's a post (and pictures!) about the latest happening...
Yesterday, March 1st, was Roberta's seventeenth birthday! (We celebrated it on Saturday, though.) Happy Birthday, Roberta! We all love you a lot!
We began with a special "tea-party breakfast" complete with apple cake, tea, and strawberries.

Strawberry, anyone?

A lovely place setting.

Even more sisters!

Limes can only mean one thing... delicious fish tacos!! (it doesn't sound too good - but think Baja California, homemade tortillas, fresh cilantro, juicy tomatoes, and tangy limes - yum yum!)
