Lovely flowers. (yes, I know - MORE lovely flowers!)

Abby enjoys the traditional blueberry snack.

Art.

The brave explorers at Deception Pass.

Bridge to nothingness.... Just kidding!!

Deception Pass - which sounds rather ominous but is, in reality, very beautiful. Even on a cloudy day.

Looking down... down... down...

Sarah and Hannah - after bravely crossing the high suspension bridge on foot with Mom and Roberta!

The workings.

Soon afterward, we board a ferry to take us to the Olympic Peninsula. While we wait for the ferry to arrive, we take a short walk and see some photogenic sights, which, of course, we have to photograph. =)

A quiet beach.

Mom and Abby.

A butterfly shell.

Do you see the seagull? =)

Everyone inside the ferry probably thought I was nuts for taking this picture! It would look from the inside like I was taking a picture through the window - which I wasn't. =) The reflection looked neat!

Travelers.

Movie star? Got to be... with those sunglasses and that smile! =)

Aha! And this must be the movie star's agent!

We stayed at Crescent Lake one night on the vacation. It's one of our family's favorite places in the whole wide world (we should know - as we've traveled a great deal of that wide world.).

Sunlight in the forest. Totally artistic.

A pretty little waterfall.

During our stay at Crescent Lake, us girls learned to kayak! From now on, this will be listed among our very favorite sports. It's great! If you've never kayaked before, I suggest you try it. You won't regret it!

Starting young...

Reflection.

A sunset finishes out our first night at Whidbey Island, where we traveled after staying at Crescent Lake. (or is it Lake Crescent...?) =)

A comfortable-looking place to sit.
Which turns out to be... not to comfortable. =)

Early morning on the beach.

Rows of heavenly-scented lavender. ;) Now I'm turning poetic. Oh, dear.

A fair maiden and her treasure. (is that even more poetic? Dear me.) ;)

That's all for now, folks! Come back later!

ERT Firefighting

Firefighting Class took place one week down at ALERT. Here are some of the pictures from the ones Joe sent me. Once more, they are not in any order whatsoever... so... =) There's a longer explanation of what's going on here on the ALERT blog.

The instructor's art.

Joe practices using a fire extinguisher.

Extinguished fire extinguishers. ;)
Joe's gear.

Once more... the book. =)

Goofing off in class, boys? =)

Firefighter Joe.

A good day's work... done!

Playing with the hose... Just kidding - they're actually truly working. =)

Learning how to use the water properly.

Practice, practice, practice!

Working hard!

Concentration.

Firefighting art. =) There's art in everything, you see?!

Tired out!

Fellow firefighters.

The car. (poor car. Ü)

Working hard!
